(Midwest Events) This race starts at The Boatworks Commons, (4459 Lake Ave S) on beautiful White Bear Lake. The course is flat and fast, 5K runs north along the lake to Matoska Park and then back to the Start/Finish at Boatworks Commons. The 5 mile course continues to West Park then Ramsey County Park and then into the White Bear Lake neighborhood before returning back to Lake Ave, Commercial Bay and the finish at Boatworks Commons. The registration includes an event T-Shirt. Rotary Volunteers are at the Start/Finish and on the course supporting the runners. All of the proceeds of the race go to the Strive Scholarship Inc Fund which is a 501c(3) tax-exempt, non-profit entity. Awards will be given to the top male and female as well as the top 3 male and female in each age group. Strive Scholarship Inc is a 501c(3) tax-exempt, non-profit group that provides Scholarships to students from White Bear Lake Area High School who are enrolled in the Strive Program and commit to improve their cumulative GPA over their Senior year. |

Prior Lake, MN Save the Date! The spring Conference of Clubs (formerly known as the District Conference) will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 19-20, at the new Mystic Conference Center, part of the Mystic Lake Hotel and Casino complex, in Prior Lake. See attached brochure for more information on what is planned. We have a spectacular line-up planned, including "Food & Friendship" with Prior Lake Rotarians hosting attendees at their home for dinner. More than 20 breakout sessions are already identified. Fabulous speakers throughout Friday. Meal and registration pricing is now being finalized. We need help now with: - Volunteer commitments -- we're looking to fill key spots by mid-December, including a number of committee chairs related to the event. Our next planning meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, beginning at 2 p.m. at the District Office. Join us! - Sponsorships -- we expect 350-400 attendees at the Conference of Club. What a great way to market your business in front of key decision-makers throughout the Twin Cities area, southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. He has over 35 years of experience as a Long Term Care Administrator, in out-state and metro facilities, ranging in size from 50 to 500 beds. He has a wide breadth of experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit facilities and organizations. In addition to being an accomplished Administrator, Jon has extensive experience in the field of older adult services, including operations work for multiple types of senior housing, assisted living, transitional care and other senior programming. |

Some help is needed on Thursday and Saturday. 8:00 p.m.‑ 11:00 p.m. Memorial Beach in White Bear Lake. $5 per person; food & beverages for purchase will be available. Free to kids ages 10 & younger. Bring your blanket & lawn chairs and kick up some sand under the stars, with live music till 11. |

Matt Halley joined Cookie Cart as it’s Executive Director in 2004. Under his leadership Cookie Cart has grown from grass roots organization in North Minneapolis to one of the largest youth employment training program in the Twin Cities. Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Augsburg College. He has worked in a variety of direct service and leadership roles at Twin Cities youth-serving organizations. |

Mike was born in Rochester, Minnesota and attended from John Marshall High School and Rochester Community College. Mike joined Greater Rochester Rotary in 2002. He has served the club on every board position with the exception of Secretary/Treasurer and was club president 2010-2011. Currently he is the District Governor, past Tech Team Chairperson for District 5960, STRIVE Co-Chair for the Rochester clubs, Board member of NCPETS, Vocational co-chair of Greater Rochester, member of the District 5960 Visioning Training Team, Technical Chair for NCPETS. Mike and Nancy have been foster parents for over twenty years and have been “foster parents” to 82 children. In 2005 they were awarded the honor of Foster Parents of the Year by Olmsted County. Mike and Nancy have served on the Parents board for the Foster Care Association and have been invited speakers to the International Shaken Baby Conference. Mike has served on his church’s Board of Directors for seven years and is a past Chairperson of that committee. Currently he is with First American Staff Appraisals as a Senior Appraiser and trainer, was the past owner of Becker Appraisals, a real estate appraisal firm since 2005. Has owned another appraisal firm and has been in the same business since 1991. He is an affiliated member of the Appraisal Institute and is a classroom instructor in the field. He currently serves as a board member of the Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors MLS board and is Treasurer of the First Homes board of the Rochester Area Foundation. Mike is an ongoing student of the profession and has logged over 1,000 hours of education time and credits. Mike has been married to his lovely wife Nancy for 42 years and has always resided in Rochester. They have five children, Beth, Robin, Marc, Brian and Nykkole. They have ten grandchildren all under the age of nine.
