If you'\;re looking for an opportunity to get involved and make a difference in the lives of students\, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! \; Approximately 200 volunteers are needed to su pport the White Bear Lake Area High School Test Drive...Next Stop Reality®\; \;even t on Dec. 12\, 2024. \;
\n\n
Test Drive \;is a hands-o n experience in which students get to test drive their future and see if t hey have what it takes to make it on their own as a 25-year-old. The simul ation begins with classroom pre-work\, where students select a career and then research the education needed and salary that would come from that ca reer. With an expected salary in hand\, students come to the reality fair and make important decisions at 22 different stations in categories such a s housing\, utilities\, transportation\, childcare\, insurance\, and food. They visit each station to talk to volunteers who share information with them about the topic and guide them through the different options based on their lifestyle and budget. To further the simulation of real life\, stud ents will also be given random family assignments.

In order for this event to be successful\, we need approximately 200 volunteers \;t o provide guidance and direction at each of these stations. Volunteers wil l have the ability to choose which station to be at as well as choose half or full-day shifts. \; No experience is required. Approximately 650 s tudents in the junior class will be participating in this event. We hope y ou will consider volunteering &ndash\; we couldn'\;t host this event wi thout the support of our community!
